Here are some questions that people frequently ask about hiring the Centre. If your question is not answered here, please contact the Centre Manager.
How big are your rooms?
The Hall is approximately 13m long by 12m wide and 2.75m high. Maximum capacity 140.
The Business Suite is approximately 6.75m long by 6.25m wide and 2.40m high. Maximum capacity 40.
Room 3 is approximately 6.25m long by 3.25m wide and 2.40m high. Maximum capacity 20.
Does the Centre have WiFi Internet?
Yes it does. The password is displayed on the noticeboard in the lobby.

Does the Centre have CCTV?
Yes, the Centre has 24 hour CCTV in all rooms for crime prevention and public safety.
Can I serve alcohol at the Centre?
Yes, but only via our approved licensee who will need 28 days to apply for a Temporary Events Notice (TENs). You must also notify the Centre Manager that you will be applying for a bar because the Centre has a limit of 15 TENs per year as a venue.
Can I use a bouncy castle in the Hall?
Yes, you can place a bouncy castle in the Hall (Max height 2.50m). Please note the height of the Hall when ordering. We will also need to see liability cover if using a bouncy castle/inflatable.
Is there parking at the Centre?
Yes, parking is available behind the Centre in the car park by ASDA. For full details click here
Disabled parking is available in front of the Centre. There is also a 5 bar cycle rack located beside the Community Centre.
Can we access the Centre outside the booked hours to setup or clear away?
No. If your event requires time to setup before the event or clear away after the event then those hours must be included and paid for as part of your booking.
Must I clean up after an event?
The Centre must be as clean and tidy after your event as when you arrived, and you should include time in your booking to allow for this. A range of mops, dustpans and brooms are available to use. All rubbish must be removed and disposed of responsibly. Please remember to check on the toilets too.
Can I hire the Hall for 17th to 20th birthday parties?
No, unfortunately we are not able to cater for these events. Please see our Terms and Conditions for full details.
I'm running a charity event. Can the Centre be hired for free or at a reduced rate?
No. Many of our users are also charities and we strive to keep our hire charges as low as we can to encourage use by all members of the community so we charge for all events.
Will I have exclusive access to the Centre’s facilities during my event?
Only if you opt to hire the whole Centre. If you are only hiring one room (e.g., the Hall) then the other rooms may be hired out to another group and you will need to share the foyer, kitchen, toilets, car park, and so on.
Is the Centre wheel-chair accessible?
Yes, the Centre is all single-level with no internal steps. There is also a wheel-chair accessible toilet.
Can I bring my pets into the Centre?
We only allow guide/assistance dogs into the Centre and play terraced beside the Centre.
Can I decorate the Centre?
Yes. Decorations should be mounted using masking tape, so you do not damage the paintwork or on the pin boards. We do not allow the use of party poppers, streamers, confetti etc.
Do you have tables, chairs, crockery etc for events?
Yes, the Centre has tables and chairs for your use during your hire. There is also crockery and cutely in the kitchen.
Does the Centre have a licence for wedding ceremonies?
No. The Hall does not have a licence for wedding ceremonies to take place in the building. However, you are welcome to book the Centre for your reception.
